Policy for Responsible Business Conduct

UniformPartner AS depends on both natural resources and people to operate our business. It is therefore important to ensure that we take care of people and nature, and that we practice responsible business practices.

The UN's Sustainable Development Goals are a global plan of action to eradicate poverty, combat inequality and stop climate change by 2030. By using the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, including the OECD Due Diligence Guidance, we ensure that the goals are safeguarded. We actively work to reduce negative impacts and harm to the environment, people and society. Sustainable Development Goals No. 5 (gender equality), No. 8 (decent work and economic growth) and No. 12 (responsible consumption and production) are particularly important to us.

UniformPartner AS knows and is aware that our business can contribute to negative impacts on people, society and the environment. We have therefore established expectations and requirements for our own business:

Due Diligence Assessments
We will continuously perform due diligence assessments. This is a risk-based approach with the objective of avoiding causing or contributing to potential harm or negative impact. This applies both internally within our own business and in our supply chain. The mapping gives us a responsibility to implement measures to stop or reduce potential or actual negative impact. An essential part of due diligence assessments is the involvement of stakeholders and clear communication with those affected to find good solutions. This can be done directly by us or in collaboration with the current supplier/partner. We expect our suppliers and partners to follow the same approach.

Responsible Purchasing Practices
Good purchasing practices are important to reduce and prevent potential negative harm in our supply chain. We know that demands for short lead times can increase the chance of overtime work, and thus be at the expense of good working conditions for workers further down in our supply chain. Good purchasing practice is therefore an essential tool for creating safe workplaces and good relationships with our suppliers. UniformPartner AS prefers to work with suppliers with whom we have long-term relationships, and with whom we have good communication and dialogue.

Communication and Notification
For UniformPartner AS, it is important to have a good and open dialogue both with our own employees and with our suppliers. We believe that communication creates trust, and that everyone should have an opportunity to provide input. We want to have an open corporate culture where there is acceptance of raising concerns and criticism. Management is committed to hearing and handling all complaints about the company's own operations, and has an obligation to handle complaints where the company has caused or contributed to damage.

Anti-corruption
UniformPartner AS does not tolerate any form of corruption, direct or indirect, bribery or other undue advantages for business or private gain.  This is enshrined in UniformPartner AS's ethical guidelines for employees.

Requirements for Conditions in the Supply Chain
It is expected that our suppliers and partners will work with and satisfy our requirements for responsible business practices.

Our suppliers shall:

  • Sign our Code of Conduct annually in addition to completing a Self Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ). The results of the SAQ will identify whether our suppliers meet our expectations, or whether measures for improvement must be implemented.
  • Use due diligence assessments to reduce and prevent negative impacts. This must be documented upon request from us.
  • Inform about any use of subcontractors so that these can be assessed and approved by us.
  • Actively work for good conditions for people, the environment and society
  • Follow the UN's human rights and the ILO Convention

Human Rights
UniformPartner AS has a responsibility to ensure safe and good working conditions for both our own employees and employees in our supply chain. We therefore work continuously and purposefully to map the risk of negative effects and damage caused by our business. Violations of the UN's human rights are not accepted. If violations are discovered, measures will be implemented immediately to stop the damage.

Environment
We are aware that our business can have an impact on the environment both through our own activities and indirectly through suppliers and partners. We have therefore developed our own environmental policy to ensure targeted work to reduce our ecological footprint.
